Welcome to J.Rust & Son, Carpet & Floorcovering Specialists, here's a bit of our family history...
After his brother-in-law initiated the sale of rugs as an extension of his furniture shop on Scrooby Road in the 1930s, Jim Rust Sr took over and transformed the business into J.Rust Gents Outfitters in 1950. With a keen eye for fashion, Jim catered to the miners and local residents of Harworth, Bircotes, Tickhill, and Bawtry, offering them on-trend, top-quality clothing. Although the business still maintained its line of rugs and doormats, the rise of shopping centres and improved transportation led to an increased demand for flooring, overshadowing the role of a local outfitter.
Meanwhile, Jim Rust Jr completed his training as a "Carpet Improver" in Leeds with the aspiration of joining his father in the flooring industry. In 1968, a new chapter unfolded as the father and son formed a partnership, which remains in place to this day as 'J.Rust & Son, Carpet & Floorcovering Specialists.'
